- Honoring Women's Strength: A Tribute to My Mother and Women's History Month
As we celebrate Women's History Month, it's essential to reflect on the countless stories of resilience, courage, and empowerment that have shaped the world we live in today. This month is not only a time to honor the trailblazing women who have paved the way for progress but also an opportunity to acknowledge the everyday heroines whose strength and determination inspire us all. In the summer of 2016, my family received news that would forever change our lives. My mother, the epitome of grace and resilience, was diagnosed with cancer. In that moment, our world was turned upside down, and we faced uncertainty and fear like never before. However, amidst the chaos, my mother's unwavering strength and courage became a beacon of hope for our family. Throughout her battle with cancer, my mother faced countless challenges with grace and dignity. She endured rigorous treatments, grueling chemotherapy sessions, and the emotional rollercoaster that comes with fighting a life-threatening illness. Despite the pain and fear, she never lost her spirit or her resolve to overcome adversity. My mother's journey through cancer was not just a testament to her own strength, but also a powerful example of women's empowerment. In a society that often underestimates the resilience of women, my mother defied stereotypes and shattered expectations. She showed us that being a woman is not synonymous with weakness, but rather with unyielding strength and resilience in the face of adversity. As I reflect on my mother's journey, I am reminded of the countless women around the world who are fighting their own battles, whether it be against illness, injustice, or inequality. Women's History Month is a time to honor these women and their contributions to our collective history. It's a time to celebrate their strength, their courage, and their unwavering determination to create a better world for future generations. In the face of adversity, my mother emerged as a true heroine, a symbol of hope and inspiration for our family and for all those who knew her story. Her journey taught me that true empowerment comes not from external validation or recognition, but from within – from the strength and resilience that lies deep within every one of us. As we celebrate Women's History Month, let us honor the women who have shaped our past, celebrate the women who are shaping our present, and empower the women who will shape our future. Together, we can continue to break down barriers, defy expectations, and build a more inclusive and equitable world for all. Here's to strong women – may we know them, may we be them, and may we raise them.

A traineeship at W.I.N. allows me to expand my knowledge & abilities in digital marketing with my mentors Sarah Curcio, and Sandra Muriel-Colorado. Market Research My mentor Sandra instructed me on how market research works. She taught me to look for pain points in my competitors' businesses through social media platforms and websites. This internship allowed me to look up Avatar's problem they had with nutrition supplements. The pain points can be high priced, fewer customers, no workout/body results due to synthetic supplements, and more unmet needs for the clients. As a result, my new market research skills will help me understand the competitive analysis landscape and make informed decisions to drive my business success. Competitive Analysis Sandra taught me about competitive analysis skills before building my business. As a beginner, she demonstrated how to research overall operations from many companies related to my nutrition business. She instructed me on social media platforms and business websites, where I can get all competitors' information. So, I jotted down the avatars, products, locations, and prices before I created my own. It allows me to be creative when building my brand awareness and business. As a result, I take the competitors' inspiration before creating engagement posts on Instagram and Facebook. Canva I'm now skilled at crafting designs on Canva under Sarah's instruction. She taught me how to create graphic contents by using templates, photos, icons, and fonts. I can make my brand logo and colors for my Powertrition business. - Moms & Mental Health
Being a mompreneur is a unique journey filled with both joys and challenges. Balancing the demands of running a business while caring for a family requires resilience, self-care, and a supportive network . So, let’s explore practical strategies and insights to prioritize mental health while navigating the complexities of motherhood and entrepreneurship. For starters, finding harmony between motherhood and entrepreneurship is a delicate dance. It's crucial to establish boundaries, delegate tasks, and prioritize responsibilities to avoid burnout and maintain balance. Ways you can do this… Schedule dedicated "work" and "family" time Set specific hours for work and family activities to maintain a healthy balance between your business and personal life. Delegate household chores Assign tasks to family members or consider hiring help for cleaning, cooking, or other household responsibilities to lighten your workload. Outsource business tasks Identify tasks in your business that can be delegated to freelancers, virtual assistants, or employees to free up time for high-priority activities. Set realistic expectations Be realistic about what you can accomplish in a day and prioritize tasks based on importance and urgency to avoid feeling overwhelmed. Learn to say no Don't overcommit yourself to tasks or projects that will stretch you too thin. Saying no to non-essential commitments allows you to focus on what truly matters. Establish digital boundaries Set boundaries around technology use by designating specific times to check emails or engage with social media, allowing for uninterrupted family time. Practice self-care rituals Prioritize self-care activities such as exercise, meditation, or hobbies to recharge and prevent burnout. Taking care of yourself is essential for maintaining balance and resilience. Stress is inevitable, but managing it is key. Mom guilt often creeps in when juggling multiple roles, but it's essential to recognize that prioritizing self-care isn't selfish—it's necessary for both personal well-being and business success. Self-care isn't a luxury; it's a necessity. Implementing self-care rituals, setting boundaries between work and family, and carving out time for relaxation are vital for maintaining mental wellness amidst the chaos of entrepreneurship and motherhood. Ways you can do this… Create a daily self-care routine Dedicate time each day for self-care activities such as meditation, journaling, exercise, or a relaxing bath to rejuvenate your mind and body. Set clear work-life boundaries Establish specific work hours and designate a workspace separate from your living area to minimize distractions and maintain a healthy balance between work and family life. Communicate boundaries with family Clearly communicate your work schedule and boundaries with your family members to ensure uninterrupted work time and dedicated family time. Prioritize relaxation Schedule regular breaks throughout the day to relax and recharge. Whether it's a short walk outside, listening to music, or practicing deep breathing exercises, prioritizing moments of relaxation can improve focus and productivity. Practice mindfulness Incorporate mindfulness practices into your daily routine, such as mindful breathing or grounding exercises, to stay present and reduce stress. Delegate tasks Delegate household chores and responsibilities to family members or consider outsourcing tasks to free up time for self-care and relaxation. Set aside "me" time Schedule regular alone time to engage in activities that bring you joy and fulfillment, whether it's reading a book, indulging in a hobby, or simply enjoying a quiet moment alone. Remember, self-care isn't selfish—it's essential for your well-being and allows you to show up as your best self for both your family and your business. - Embracing Growth: Skills I've learned working with the WIN Internship
Life is an ongoing journey of growth and learning, and our skills are the compasses that guide us along the way. Whether acquired through formal education, hands-on experience, or personal development, each skill we learn adds depth and richness to our lives. In this blog post, I invite you to join me on a reflective journey as I introduce some of the valuable skills I've learned during my internship with Women Into Networking. Blog posting skills During my time writing blogs for the WIN community, I have been able to refine my Writing Skills. Blogging involves consistent writing, which helped me improve my writing style, grammar, vocabulary, and overall communication skills. Having to post blogs has also helped me find my voice and try out different styles of writing. Writing these blog posts also have helped me better understand Search Engine Optimization (SEO). I have learned how to optimize my blog posts for search engines to increase visibility online and how to attract more readers. Knowing and understanding which keywords and meta tags to use has also been a major help when it comes to making my blog post more visible. Along with this, being able to write about different topics and having to create different blog titles, headlines, and content has helped me become more creative and innovative. Time Management In the last few months, I have been able to manage my time more wisely and can now plan my time more effectively. Trying to balance both my personal life and the WIN internship, I have been able to properly identify what tasks should be done first and which can be done later. Creating a to-do list and modifying it as the day and week goes by has been a major help. By doing this, I have been able to properly focus on my tasks and avoid procrastination more. Having set goals (even if they are short-term) has made me more productive with my time and how to use it. Along with this, getting out of the habit of multitasking and only focusing on one task at a time has helped with the quality of my work; Because I am only working on one assignment at a time, I can concentrate more on the given task without having to worry about completing others at the same time. Being able to focus on one task has helped me become more efficient and finish it at a faster rate. The significance of skills cannot be overstated in today's dynamic and competitive world. As I've explored and gained many skills throughout this internship, it has helped and hopefully will continue to serve me for both personal and professional development in the future.
