Board Member Roles and Responsibilities for W.I.N. (Women Into Networking)

Chairperson

Provide leadership and direction to the board and the organization as a whole. Oversee all activities and initiatives to ensure alignment with the mission and goals of WIN.

 

 

$50,000/year APPLY FOR THIS POSITION

Vice Chairperson

Support the Chairperson/President in their duties and act as their proxy when necessary. Assist in leading board meetings and executing strategic initiatives.

 

 $25,000/year APPLY FOR THIS POSITION

Secretary

Manage all administrative tasks related to board meetings and official records. Ensure accurate documentation of meeting minutes and maintain records of organizational documents.

$15,000/year APPLY FOR THIS POSITION

Treasurer 

Oversee the financial management and accountability of WIN. Monitor budgets, financial reports, and fundraising activities to ensure fiscal responsibility.

 $10,000/year APPLY FOR THIS POSITION

Board Member-at-Large

Provide strategic guidance and support to WIN based on their expertise and experience. Represent the interests of WIN's stakeholders and contribute to decision-making processes.

$5,000/year APPLY FOR THIS POSITION

Your Role as a Board Member

As a Board Member, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of WIN. Your insights, expertise, and leadership will drive our mission forward, helping us create a supportive community where women can thrive and excel.

 

Some responsibilities and benefits include:

 

1. Collaborating with fellow board members to set goals and develop strategies for achieving our mission.

 

2. Ensuring compliance with regulations, overseeing financial matters, and upholding the organization's values and principles.

 

3. Representing WIN in various forums, fostering partnerships, and advocating for the advancement of women in our community.


4. Engaging in meaningful work that makes a positive impact, expanding your network, and developing leadership skills.

Qualifications for Board Member Roles at W.I.N. (Women Into Networking)

Chairperson/President

  • Experience in leadership roles within nonprofit organizations or similar entities.

  • Strong understanding of organizational governance and strategic planning.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to inspire and motivate board members and volunteers.

  • Demonstrated commitment to the mission and goals of W.I.N.

  • Financial capacity to meet the entry cost requirement.

Vice Chairperson/Vice President

  • Previous experience serving on nonprofit boards or committees.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with the Chairperson/President and other board members.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Understanding of strategic planning and implementation.

  • Commitment to supporting the Chairperson/President in their duties.

  • Financial capacity to meet the entry cost requirement.

Secretary

  • Proficiency in administrative tasks and record-keeping.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documenting meeting minutes.

  • Familiarity with organizational bylaws and legal requirements.

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.

  • Financial capacity to meet the entry cost requirement.

Treasurer

  • Background in finance, accounting, or related fields.

  • Experience managing budgets and financial reports.

  • Knowledge of nonprofit financial regulations and compliance.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate financial information effectively to board members.

  • Financial capacity to meet the entry cost requirement.

Board Member-at-Large

  • Diverse professional background and expertise relevant to W.I.N.'s mission.

  • Commitment to attending board meetings and actively participating in discussions.

  • Willingness to contribute personal insights and expertise to decision-making processes.

  • Understanding of fundraising and development principles.

  • Ability to represent the interests of W.I.N.'s stakeholders.

  • Financial capacity to meet the entry cost requirement.

All board members must adhere to the organization's code of conduct, uphold ethical standards, and act in the best interests of W.I.N. and its members. The entry costs mentioned are suggested annual contributions, and exceptions may be made based on individual circumstances and financial capabilities.
