Mentor Ernise Cummings

Ernise Cummings is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Secret Miracles, Inc. This non-profit organization is committed to empowering students particularly those attending Title I schools through college preparation, career exposure, entrepreneurship education, and mentorship.

Ernise's nonprofit mission was born in the real pressure of parenting. As a single mother raising three children in New Orleans, she wasn't just trying to "get by" she was trying to ensure her kids graduated with the right credits, direction, and options. Raised in a world where community shapes character early.

She didn't want them stuck at home for life. She didn't want them recruited into the gangs rising in her neighborhood at the time. She wanted them on "the right side of the fence," as her grandfather a Baptist minister raised her to believe.

In addition, Ernise has over 43 years of Federal Government Contracting experience, she’s passionate about empowering individuals and businesses to achieve their goals. Her journey has been defined by diverse roles, including holding the position of Deputy for Principal Assistant Responsible for Contracting (US Army Corps of Engineers), Contracting Professional for the US Naval Facilities Command and other DoD Agencies in the expertise areas of Federal Contracting and Small Business.
