WINTERN- Lanie Dando

About Me!

Hi! My name is Lanie Dando, and I'm a current WINtern for Women Into Networking. I’m a rising senior at James Madison University and I'm majoring in Communication Studies. I was born and raised in Arlington Virginia, and have lived there my whole life. I will be graduating in the Spring of 2027, and I’m so incredibly excited to see what's to come!

Outside of School

Outside of school, I like to spend time traveling, exploring the outdoors, and making memories with my friends and family. One of my biggest passions is traveling, and my ultimate goal is to visit every national park in the United States. I also love photography and have been doing it for many years as it allows me to capture the beautiful places I visit and appreciate the little details that make each place unique. Nebraska has always felt like my second home since so much of my family lives there, and I love getting to experience both Nebraska and Virginia because each has something different and special to offer. When I’m not in school or traveling, you’ll usually find me spending time with friends and family, watching a good show, or doing some sort of craft!

Why Win?

I’m incredibly excited to be joining Women Into Networking as a WINtern for the next few months! Social media and content creation have always been areas I’m interested in, so I’m looking forward to gaining hands-on experience while learning from such an inspiring organization. What drew me to Women Into Networking most is its mission of empowering women through mentorship, networking, and professional development. I believe creating opportunities for women to build confidence, connect with others, and grow in their careers is super meaningful, and I’m excited to contribute to that mission through creative content and storytelling.

Connect with Me

I’m looking forward to meeting everyone, learning throughout this internship, and helping share the incredible work Women Into Networking is doing. I can’t wait to see what this experience has in store! Feel free to reach out or connect with me on Instagram, Facebook, or Linkedin
