Internships: Experiences and Lessons Learned

The stereotypical internship experience can be summed up with minor errands like running coffee and lunch. I am happy to say that is not the case in my experience with Women Into Networking W.I.N! Jokes aside, my social media marketing internship experience has been nothing but insightful and great practice for the career I want to pursue in my future.
Starting with hard skills, I've learned:
Writing blog posts and boosting presence on Google
Managing social media pages
Creating visuals on Canva for social media

The sessions I spend learning how to do social media and blogs have been so fulfilling to moving towards the kind of career I want. I am beyond excited to practice and apply my learnings to my work in the future. Moving on to soft skills, I have learned that it is okay to ask for help. I have worked in multiple environments where it is difficult for me to do so. Women Into Networking W.I.N. has created a safe environment for me to learn at my pace and comfort. I feel that I have significantly improved with my communication skills, motivation, and creativity throughout my first month as an intern with this organization. I am so grateful to my mentors for allowing me to thrive and learn in an easygoing space!
While I am happy in my current position, I am still eager to learn more on how to improve in the social media marketing area. I can not wait to see how I improve and how far I will have come once November rolls around!
